COVID-19 and long-term care facilities in low and middle-income countries
An emergency strategy for managing COVID-19 in long-term care facilities
A network of academics and local government experts have quickly put together some suggestions for policy-makers and stakeholders in low and middle-income country settings. We refer to this as the “CIAT Framework”. This is an ongoing process and we will update our suggestions over time. The most recent version of the CIAT Framework is available here:
An earlier version is available here in English: An Emergency Strategy For Managing COVID-19 In Care Homes In LMICs: The CIAT Framework (Version 1*) and here in Portuguese: Uma estratégia de emergência para o manejo do COVID-19 em casas de repouso em LMIC: a estrutura CIAT
We plan to post new updates in 2021 and welcome any comments on or potential additions to this document.
