WEBINAR: Social protection responses to COVID-19

A webinar organised by HelpAge International, International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth (IPC-IG), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, GIZ, and Australia – Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, DFAT will elucidate and explain actions that policymakers in the governments can take to tackle the impacts of COVID-19 among older people.

The webinar will be held on 9 April 2020 at 7:30 am EDT/GMT-4 and registration can be done here.

The webinar will focus on social protection and health care in lower- and middle-income countries and present concrete guidelines on how governments can minimise the risk of infection among older people during manual pension payments while continuing to ensure the income security of older people and their dependents in this crisis.

Linking social protection and health, simple approaches will be discussed on how Government, partners and older people themselves can reduce the risk of infection from COVID-19 and manage symptoms.
